Asia Pacific Drilling Services (APDS) was founded in Singapore early 1992 with the prime objective of servicing the emerging oil and gas industry in Vietnam.

Several of the initial staff had long and established drilling careers mostly in the South East Asian region and the company was in a fortunate position to take advantage of the growth in the developing oil and gas market in Vietnam.

Initially the only major player in Vietnam was Vietsovpetro a joint venture between Petrovietnam and Nesto a Russian trading organization which after a period of time APDS were able to penetrate selling drilling and production equipment.

In the early to mid nineties several major oil companies such as BP, Petronas and Mitsubishi Oil (JVPC) completed their mandatory exploration projects in which APDS participated with  coring services, down hole surveying, solids control services, filtration services, and support repair services. These were mainly in conjunction with companies that had no presence in Vietnam.

Our first major success was bringing Santa Fe, the international drilling contractor with a fleet of heavy jack up drilling units to Vietnam. APDS not only helped secure this initial work but also provided Administration services, a full logistic service, transportation, crew change service, housing, office, and rig support services.

In 2005 formed APDS Vietnam Ltd a 100 percent foreign owned enterprise with an initial capitalization of 1.5M$.

Our main business lines are engineering design, fabrication, equipment manufacture, repair/renovation, onshore & offshore services, and support services such as logistics, and import/export services.

We currently have approximately 3,000 SMT of covered workshop/warehouse facilities and offices of 300 SMT. APDS employed in excess of 60 persons.

To sum up APDS have evolved into a streamlined, extremely efficient, and  highly responsive organization with an excellent reputation of completing all tasks that we are given.
